Key Changes and Requirements
1. New Definition for Competent Crew Members on Coastal and Near Coastal Vessels
The existing definition of competent crew members for maintenance of fixed fire fighting systems has been updated to include coastal and near coastal vessels.
- New Definition: Those crew members who have completed an Advanced Fire Fighting course and hold a management level Certificate of Competency as CEO/SEA for Near-Coastal Voyages.
II/4 Guidelines for the maintenance and inspections of fixed carbon dioxide fire-extinguishing systems.
