Issuance of seamen Identity Cards to Sailing Vessel Crew-reg

Applicable to: Persons serving on board sailing vessels

Effective Date: Immediate

Key Changes and Requirements

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the requirement for the I-Card to have the signature of respective issuing authorities is temporarily dispensed.

Application: Submit electronically through the e-module developed by DG Shipping.
Scrutiny: Accepted and scrutinized by the Regional Officer (Sails).
Printing: On acceptance, the application is forwarded to the Directorate for printing.
Signature: Put/inked by the Regional Officer (Sails), Mumbai.

Note: All other authorities exercisable by the issuing authority continue to be exercised by respective issuing authorities.
