Key Changes and Requirements
1. Application Process
Applications for new or renewed Seamen Identity Cards (Sails) must be made online through the DG Shipping official website.
- Mode: Online, through the prescribed form available on the coastal module of the DG Shipping website (www.dgshipping.gov.in)
- Documents: Upload required documents as per the checklist (Annexure-II) appended with this SOP
- Fee: ₹500, payable through e-payment gateway or Bharatkosh
- Review: Regional Officer (Sails) will review the application and forward it to the Directorate for issuance
- Dispatch: I-cards will be dispatched by speed post to the given address of the applicant
2. Important Notes
Important Note
No application, documents, or fee will be accepted in offline mode. Any application with deficiency may be rejected without prejudice to the fee paid.
