28.05.2014
Superseded Circulars:
Directorate’s Circular No. 46 dated 24.05.2002
Key Changes and Requirements
1. New Procedure for Approval as Internal Examiners
Due to an increase in candidates and a shortage of qualified internal examiners, especially for higher grades, the following procedure is introduced:
- MEO Class-I: Qualified as MEO Class-I, examined MEO Class-II for 60 months, examines repeaters only initially.
- MEO Class-II: Qualified as MEO Class-I, examined MEO Class-IV for 12 months, examines with an approved MEO Class-II external examiner.
Note: This procedure is a partial relaxation of higher qualification requirements.
Important Note
This issues with the approval of the Director-General of Shipping.
