Key Changes and Requirements
1. Sampling Procedures
Sampling should be done from designated points that meet specific conditions to ensure representativeness and safety.
- Conditions: Accessible, safe, downstream of service tank, close to combustion machinery, marked, shielded, and drained.
2. Sample Handling
Samples should be taken when fuel oil flow is steady, and the sampling connection is flushed. Samples should be representative, sealed, and labeled with specific details.
II/4 Sample Label Information
- Details: Location, date, ship name & IMO, seal ID, signatures
Important Note
Non-compliance may result in penalties as per MARPOL Annex VI regulations.
