Mandatory Training Requirements for Security Personnel engaged by the Port Facilities
Key Changes and Requirements
1. Mandatory Training Course
The Directorate General of Shipping has approved a training course developed by the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) for Security Personnel engaged by Port Facilities.
- Course Title: Security awareness training for Port Facility personnel with designated security duties
- Duration: 5 days
- Intake Capacity: Maximum 40 candidates per batch
- Frequency: One/two batches per month
- Location: CISF Training Division, Mumbai/Chennai/Kolkata/Kandla/Kochi/Vizag and additional locations specified by CISF
2. Training Compliance and Eligibility
All Security Personnel (both Government and Private) engaged in providing security services in all Port Facilities must undergo the approved training course within six months.
Failure to complete the mandated training will make Private Security personnel ineligible for deployment by port authorities. The training will constitute the minimum qualification for engagement of Private Security Personnel at Port Facilities.
