Key Changes and Requirements
1. Data Collection Centers Expansion
Data collection for Seafarers Identity Document (SID) has been expanded to 6 more Maritime Manning Districts (MMDS) from 01.08.2019.
- New Centers: Noida, Goa, New Mangalore, Kochi, Vizag, Kandla
2. Utilize Available Slots
Seafarers are requested to fully utilize the available slots for data collection at these new centers.
- Action: Book slots for data collection at the nearest center
3. MTIs' Role
Maritime Training Institutes (MTIs) should ensure trainees obtain SID and facilitate booking slots during training.
- Action: Advise and facilitate trainees for booking slots
