Key Changes and Requirements

1. Swachhata Hi Seva 2018 (SHS 2018) — 15th September to 2nd October, 2018

The Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation has decided to observe SHS 2018 to accelerate the Jan Andolan for a clean India.

Objective: To reinforce that sanitation is everyone's business and to further clean India.
Duration: From 15th September to 2nd October, 2018.

2. Versova Beach Clean-up Drive — 2nd October, 2018, 11:00 AM

The Directorate General of Shipping has organized a Versova beach clean-up drive under the valuable guidance of Mr. Afroz Shah, UN Champion of the Earth.

Volunteers: Maritime fraternity and locals are requested to participate.
Location: Versova beach, Mumbai.

3. Coordination with Local Maritime Fraternity

All Mercantile Marine Departments under the Directorate General of Shipping are advised to coordinate with the local maritime fraternity and social activists to undertake beach cleaning exercises in their respective territories on 2nd October, 2018.

This is a voluntary initiative, but all stakeholders are encouraged to participate and contribute to the cleanliness drive.
