Trouble description:
After AE sump oil renewal LO pressure is dropping fast.
We renewed crankcase oil and cleaned the auto filter elements. The sump was not cleaned due to time constraint. LO used was fresh newly received oil.
After starting AE the LO pressure is not holding and dropping fast.
Measures taken:
- Cleaned auto filter elements again ( filter elements are also aged).
- Renewed LO pressure regulating valve.
Observations:
- LO temp near pump is 63 and to engine inlet is at 63 degrees (according to manual this is normal temperature)
- AE 3 is also starting to show same symptoms. Previously it used to run for days now it starts dropping after 12 hours. No maintenance was done on it except for filter candle replacement
- AE 1 is ok but it is running in parallel as the TC was installed without diffuser ring.
Planned jobs:
- Planning to check the lube oil engine driven pump and its 2 safety valves.
- Check the pump suction bell mouth.
- Check the bearing clearances and check the lube oil flow.
Please advise any further checks to be carried out
