Key Changes and Requirements

1. Course Changes

The Operational Level Liquid Cargo Handling Simulator (LCHS) course is no longer mandatory due to changes in STCW'78. Officers will now directly undergo the Management Level course.

2. Approval and Compliance

Existing MTIs approved for Chief Mate (Phase I & II) - Foreign Going (FG) and/or Near Coastal Voyage (NCV) can apply for new approval/enhancement of existing capacity for the Liquid Cargo Handling Simulator (LCHS) Management Level course. Compliance with Training Circular No.29 of 2005 and relevant course guidelines is required.
