Revised Procedure for Rating Certifications
1. New Certification Procedure
The revised procedure for certification of ratings forming part of Navigational / Engine-room watch is prescribed in Annexure-I. MMDs and Facilitation Centres should follow this procedure with immediate effect.
2. Application Process
Applicants should submit the following documents:
- Category-I: Application form, INDOS number printout, Indian CDC, Passport, Sea service letter, Training Record Book, Pre-sea training certificate, SSC marksheet (if not exempted), Medical fitness certificate, Photographs, Fees
- Category-II & III: Same as Category-I, plus additional documents as per Annexure-I
Key Notes: Applicants under Category-II should apply before 31st Dec 2016. If a candidate fails the exam three times, they must complete six months of sea service before reapplying.

This circular supersedes all previous instructions/circulars on the subject matter, except those mentioned herein.
