The STCW 2010 Amendments will enter into force on 01/01/2012. Full compliance is expected by 01/01/2017.

2. IMO Circulars
The IMO has issued two circulars for clarification and guidance on the implementation of STCW 2010 Amendments:
- STCW.7/Circ.16: Clarification of transitional provisions
- STCW.7/Circ.17: Advice for Port State Control officers
II/4 All stakeholders, including seafarers, are advised to comply with the requirements of these STCW Circulars.
