Key Changes and Requirements

1. New CDC Format and Security Features

The existing CDC format has been modified to incorporate multiple security features to prevent misuse and tampering.

  • New CDC Issuance: All fresh CDC applicants will receive the new CDC format starting 1st July, 2009.
  • CDC Replacement: Seafarers already holding a CDC are advised to replace it with the new CDC. The replacement procedure and time schedule will be prescribed separately.
  • Replacement Fee: A fee of Rs.1000/- will be charged for the issue of a new CDC as a replacement.
