Key Changes and Requirements

Every ship must have radio personnel with valid certificates to operate radio installations.

GMDSS Ships: 2 officers with GMDSS (GOC) endorsement or 1 dedicated Radio Officer
Non-GMDSS Ships: At least one certified radio personnel

Shipowners/managers must ensure compliance with the above requirements immediately.

Surveyors must verify compliance during RSE certificate surveys and report non-compliance to the Nautical Advisor.

Important Note

Non-compliance may result in denial of RSE certificate and potential penalties under the Indian Telegraphy Act, 1978.
