After manual scrutiny, apply for audit as per MS Notice 28/2003 and 8/2004. Include fleet size, ship types, and other necessary information.
- Ships carrying dry cargo in bulk: Classified as 'Other Cargo Ships' if not meeting SOLAS Chapter IX definition for a Bulk Carrier.
2. Fees and Payment
Fees for DOC audit to be paid directly to D.G. Shipping. For SMC audit, fees to be paid to the Recognised Organisation (R.O.).
- On completion of audit: Apply to Directorate for issuance of certificate with requisite fees.
3. Nonconformities
Minor nonconformities must be resolved within three months. Major nonconformities require immediate corrective action.
- Major nonconformities: Reported in writing to company, master, and D.G. Shipping. SMC not issued until resolved.
4. DOC/SMC Withdrawal/Invalidation
