Key Changes and Requirements
1. Revalidation of GMDSS GOC Endorsement
Radio Operators must maintain proficiency for GMDSS (GOC) STCW 95 Endorsement through:
- Medical Fitness: Certificate for eyesight, hearing, and speech
- Sea Service: 1 year in 5 years or equivalent
- Training/Test: Approved test, course, or 3-month supernumerary service
2. New Revalidation Option
Candidates unable to comply may attend GMDSS (GOC) Preparatory Course for first revalidation. Subsequent endorsements require MOC consultation.
