Key Changes and Requirements
1. Surveillance DOC Audit Eligibility
Shipping Companies that obtained an Interim DOC for one year but couldn't manage the ship within that period can apply for a Surveillance DOC Audit to revalidate it.
2. Application Criteria
Applications are accepted only if:
- Timely: submitted within the existing Interim DOC's validity
- Unchanged: no changes to policy, objectives, organization structure, or other responsibilities as documented in the existing SMS manual
3. Audit and Fresh Interim DOC
After verification of the company's plans for full ISM Code implementation, a fresh Interim DOC will be issued, valid for one year from the date of the satisfactory audit.
4. Fees and Application
Fees for the audit are as per DGS Circular No. 5 of 2004. Applications should include the ISM audit request form enclosed in MS Notice 8 of 2004.
