Key Changes and Requirements
1. Restriction on Recruitment
No recruitment agency shall recruit Indian seafarers for vessels operating exclusively within the inland, riverine, coastal, or port-limit waters of the Sarawak Region of Malaysia.
- Prohibited Actions: Recruitment, engagement, placement, or deployment of Indian seafarers on such vessels.
- Non-processing: Proposals, offer letters, employment contracts, or wage agreements for such engagement.
- Treatment: Any such engagement is treated as outside the scope of the licence granted to a recruitment agency.
