Key Changes and Requirements
1. MEO Class IV Part A Examination Requirement
The requirement to pass MEO Class IV Part A examinations before undergoing the mandatory 6-month sea service as a Trainee Marine Engineer has been relaxed.
- Eligible candidates: may now undertake the mandatory onboard training without passing MEO Class IV Part A examinations.
- Mandatory: passing MEO Class IV Part A examination before appearing for MEO Class IV Part B examination.
Note: This circular supersedes all previous instructions on the subject.
