Key Changes and Requirements
1. Quality Standards System Report — STCW Compliance
Inspectors must complete the 'Report of Quality Standard Systems of the Maritime Training Institute' before conducting inspections.
- Inspector Action: Cannot conduct inspection if any requirement is answered 'No'.
- Deficiency Action: MTI has 15 days to remove deficiency. If not, inspector notifies Directorate and MMD.
2. Inspector and Auditor Qualifications — AECS Course Requirement
Lead Internal Auditors, CIP Inspectors, and MMD Inspectors must have successfully undertaken the 'Assessment, Examination and Certification of Seafarers' (AECS) course.
