Key Changes and Requirements
1. Replacement of IAPP and EIAPP Certificates
Existing IAPP and EIAPP Statements/Certificates of Compliance must be replaced with Convention Certificates by the first of the following occasions after 23rd February 2012, but no later than 23rd February 2013:
- IAPP Certificate renewal survey
- Change of flag survey
- Re-issue of certification for Annex VI
- Owner's request
2. Action Required for Indian Registered Vessels
Owners/Managers of Indian registered vessels should approach respective Registrars to replace existing IAPP and EIAPP Statements/Certificates with Convention Certificates before 23rd February, 2013, even if renewal surveys are not due between 23rd February 2012 and 23rd February 2013.
Recognized Organizations are advised to issue Convention Certificates in line with existing practices for other statutory certificates.
